why are some people drawn to psychology and philosophy and religion, and others couldn’t care less?

is it because of the people are different, or are the topics themselves just uninteresting to some?

Both. But a lack of interest in the philosophical suggests a lack of imagination to me. Some people have less imagination than others.

well some people either dont have the mental capacity to try and become intrigued in these things.

So it would be both, some people just aren’t interested, and if they are interested in somethings, but not others, then yes, they are different.

These are subjects where one is not accountable as there is no finite answer to anything.

we all have interests….some people find philosophy while they dance, some on top of mountains and some on a chess board. I can understand these mountaineers and artisans better by reading philosophy… So trying-to-understand-the-world” is where I found my philosophy and not in the books that fit under the criteria of “Philosophy”.

So to put it blunt my philosophy is philosophy and it just so happens that the these two classifications fall into each other.

Most people are drawn to all or some of these things because they are trying to figure out the most basic questions: What is the meaning of my life? Why am I here? And, some people are relatively content by not confronting this, and just plod along. I belong to the first group and have sought wisdom that would provide some answers.

Here are some interesting links that I have found:

In my opinion it’s because none of these subjects have definite answers. There is more searching involved and it isn’t just simple thought and some people (including myself) like to look deeper.

Only when people have suffered do they attempt to understand the psychological, philosophical, or metaphysical world. The pain of suffering forces them to look inside themselves for the answers because they won’t find them on the outside. Those who have never suffered are blind and deaf to the possibilities beyond their scope of imagination. There is no need to ask questions about things they can’t conceive of.

Some are intrigued by how people work, some like to speculate about how the world works, and some don’t care how anything works as long as it works for them.

Others, just prefer to stay optimistic, simple and happy. Not a bad thing at all, I would say.
