Why are 75-85 percent of the psychology questions about being depressed or having low self esteem?
whenever you look at the psychology questions do you ever pity the people and why does the majority talk about suicide, depression and low self esteem.
Why arent there more normal questions?

i don’t pity them
i think these are questions that people don’t necessarily feel comfortable asking at the dinner table
so they come here anonymously and ask what they need
i don’t know what kinds of questions would be ‘normal’ in psychology from your perspective

Depression and self-esteem problems are the two most prevalent issues in psychology, hence their being represented more frequently in this section than other types of questions.

Actually, it’s sad to say that depression is a fairly “normal” state in advanced civilizations!
What our civilizations do, is to take young, happy, children, and socialize them to sit on hard chairs for six hours each day, doing work which is hard for many of them to do, which doesn’t interest a lot of them…
Then, they go home and lots of them don’t have many friends, and they live at a distance from loving family members and relatives.
It’s easy to be depressed in our current societies!

well cuz people who are looking for help tend to be depressed…
If you do a little research on the prevalence of depression, you would see that it IS the norm.
