What online school has courses in parapsychology or psychology?

Question by summer lane: What online school has courses in parapsychology or psychology?
i would love to learn about parapsychology, but psychology would be good too. my mom wants to put me in k12 but i dont think they have courses on that for 8th grade… so now i just sort of study in my spare time. but i want it to be an actual part of school. what online school has courses for that in 8th or even 9th grade?

No accredited (that means real) high school or college teaches courses in parapsychology, for the simple reason that it’s never been shown to exist. Nothing paranormal has been observed, therefore there’s nothing to teach. It’s fantasy, not reality. Psychology is a legitimate field of study, but most high schools don’t offer it at all. It’s a very common college major (the most popular after business).

Education in parapsychology is usually taught at the Doctorate (Ph.D.) level. In fact most programs require a Masters degree in a conventional science (medicine, physics, engineering, psychology, etc.)
There are a few online introduction courses but they are also taught at the college level.

I have included a link below to the Parapsychological Association. The second link will take you to educational opportunities in parapsychology. The third link is the members list by clicking on names you can see their education.

Psiexplorer is right about there being no high-school level parapsychology courses. But Eri is wrong that there are no accredited college courses. There are several colleges and universities around the US that offer at least one or two parapsychology classes (among them are the University of California at Irvine, the University of Virginia, and the University of Colorado). At a few of the accredited public universities in the UK it is possible to get a degree in parapsychology (though this probably won’t do you much good unless you move to the UK, LOL). Other than that, Psiexplorer’s links to online courses is pretty thorough.

http://www.edgarcayce.org has some online courses and groups that you could probably join. This is the group that started all of this.

Atlantic University also has coursework online, and you could have a conversation with them about taking a course. There is a significant fee for these courses, however. They would be a challenge, but perhaps you could work something out if you showed them you could handle the assignments at this point in your education.

Both institutions have been around since the early 1900’s! Not such a new concept after all! :o)
