What medical careers require the shortest amount of time and have good salary?

Question by Look Its Jay: What medical careers require the shortest amount of time and have good salary?
With a BA in Psychology with Pre-Med requirements finished?
With just a BA in Psychology?

How about starting from scratch and getting a 2 year degree or something from a community college?

I can only think of 2 years in Nursing at the moment. Is there anything else?

Sigh…oh my. Here we go with the instant gratification. How soon can I start making money, not how best can I put to use what I’ve learned. You would give up all that you have acquired to start over with a degree in practical nursing? Oh well, If that’s your aim in life, so be it. How about one of the technical fields in medicine? X-ray, physical therapy, or lab technician?

If you’re looking for money to finish your medical degree, start looking for grants and a part-time job flipping burgers until you get your grant money. Don’t give it all up to start a new career because you will never go back to school. Believe me, I’ve been there and done that.

Tech colleges have the best programs. They’re a little more expensive, and not all their stuff will transfer to other colleges, but they get you out quickest and into the workforce, so obviously you’re able to pay back that money sooner and get settled in your new career.

Your BEST BET would be to jump into a good RN program. RN’s start at around 40-50 grand a year. It’s tough work and a LOT of studying, but it pays off.
