What indicators show that a psychotherapy client has reached their goal of therapy?
How would you assist them in dealing with the future where the changes they wanted have been accomplished? How much control do we have over our future?

If you need to assist them, they’re not there yet. We have complete control over how we ‘deal’ with our future

They’ve reached their goal, or at least can’t be helped by you anymore, when they run out of things to say, don’t feel like telling you every little thing in their mind, are totally bored, feel their time could be better spent elsewhere, don’t care if you go away and they miss sessions, you get the picture.
At that point, they might say, “Well I don’t think I want to come here anymore.” You can give them the opportunity to express any ambivalence but ultimately they’re out of there no matter what.
