Question by : does psychotherapy really help personality disorders? i cant help but be skeptical? i think i have a remote schizoid personality disorder and im planning on going to a mental health hospital soon to get myself examined by a professional. i cant help but feel that psychotherapy is just a kind of placebo.. i mean it involves talking to someone and doing assignments that your’e supposed to follow but it seems like it wouldnt work that well. at least it seems to me like that. have you gone through psychotherapy and if so, what kind of things did you have to do and did it help?
