Informative college textbook!, January 23, 1999

Easy to read. Basics of human anatomy start the book after a bit of background on human sexuality and gender roles. Explicit pictures and photos. Topics range from STD’s and abortion to Cybersex and Loving Relationships. Text gives suggestions for further discussion throughout! Useful definitions appear on the pages where they first appear in the text. Paper and script used very easy on the eyes. Website sources and further readings suggested at the end of every section. Small glossary, but definitions taken care of in text. Author and subject indexes extensive. Very informative!

Textbook used for upper level college course. Informative!, January 23, 1999

This review is from: Our Sexuality (Hardcover)

The course is called HUMAN SEXUALITY and many jokes have been born around it! “When is the lab?” etc. But the editions of this book have been used for as long as I can remember, and now that I am in the class I can see why! From a standpoint of information it is unsurpassed I am certain! It is easy reading, informative, and as the first sexually EXPLICIT textbook I have ever used it has been very easy to deal with! The book goes step-by-step through the basics of human anatomy and topics range from STD’s to abortion to Loving relationships in very straightforward language. Our professor has been able to encorporate group work, and field trips as well as our own personal study. Discussions suggested from the book have been some of the best ever!

    Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

I purchased this textbook for a human sexuality 3500 class. I took the class online, thus the importance of my comprehension of the material within the text was crucial. I may have slightly enjoyed a textbook on occasion, but more often than not they are simply a means to a grade. This was not the case with “Our Sexuality”, which I loved! Sources cited within the text have led me to more reading, I even purchased a few first editions of the works of Kinsey, Ellis, and Masters & Johnson that were referenced early on. I had a friend visiting from out of state and she read the entire textbook over her weeklong stay. I briefly questioned selling the book back, (I normally await, eagerly, at the chance of pawning off my pile of overpriced unused crap that they call textbooks.) But the need to purchase new overpriced crap for the coming semester led me to list the book on EBay, it sold for $50.

I saved almost $30 by purchasing the textbook through Amazaon instead of the bookstore. Amazon has certainly become my preference for purchasing textbooks.
