Should I become an emt although I’m currently a Psychology and Education Major?
Hey Guys. I am a junior in college studying Psych and Education. I learned about this awesome opportunity to train to become an emt. I consider myself a hard worker as well as a devoted person but I want to know from the world would it be too much to handle?

I have a friend who worked as an EMT and Volunteer firefighter during college, it was truly rewarding for her. It was demanding at times, but she always had great stories to tell and felt really good about the help she was offering people.
She was always busy balancing work and school (the EMT position & VFF became almost a full-time job) but she managed it well. It takes a person with a lot of dedication to school and work to balance these two. Some nights she would get only a few hours of sleep because of night calls, but she always keep up with her work.
If you’re willing to make some sacrifices in your night life, etc. to help people this is a really great job for you. The emotional rewards are almost unmatched by other jobs…
Hope this helps with your decision:)

Do it. My daughter did this in her senior year in college and it made it easier to get into grad school. At grad school she works part time at the local VA hospital ER doing triage and for the county in the summer with the visiting nurse program.
And if you work on an ambulance crew you can study between calls.
