Sadness vs. Depression (Mental Health Guru)

Everyone experiences sadness, loneliness and grief. But when depression symptoms don’t go away, the emotional toll can be devastating! mental.healthguru.com

Read Is your Pastor Mentally Ill? www.watchnpray.net WARNING!!!! This is a serious issue that has been affecting our communities for years…many preachers/ministers that you think are annointed are actually dealing with serious mental health issues, and hyper/uncontrolled emotionalism can be brushed off as “spirit”. We are not making an implication that TONGUES are somehow connected to mental illness, but we are trying to make your realize that there are many things that are done in the name of “SPIRITUALITY” that are covers for those that are dealing with mental illness. Every preacher/minister isnt crazy but many are, many start to lose their minds as they get older and some were not mentally stable to begin with. Seminaries are full of socio-paths & insecure people that need to be diagnosed and treated instead of puffed up & lauded. Many of the supra-religious homes that many “PK’s” grew up was full of so many extremes that many have trouble dealing with everyday life. Mental illness grows worse when children from these oppressive religious environments intrench deeper into the religious system. It almost becomes impossible for them to discern between what is real and what is not. They plunge into a fantasy world, where ministry is an illusion and obsessive compulsive behaviors become the drug of choice. Wonderland becomes their frame of reference…paranoia sets in…they begin to see their closest friends as enemines, their family as a stumbiling block, and their

You can’t function in any way, which means you cannot speak with your doctor.
Imagine not being able to even work, staying in the house all day with the lights off, and unplugging the phone, because you you can’t talk with anyone.
Not so easy. Worst thing I have ever gone through. I’d rather suffer breaking every bone in my body than suffer this type of depression again. Can’t just take a happy pill, and go see your doctor. Doesn’t work that way. Wish it did … but it doesn’t .

I’m not depressed, however, i’m pretty much the only person in my immediate family who isn’t depressed so I see it’s effects and it’s pretty sad to see someone suffer with it and not be able to help them.

I have severe depression for 4+ years now and this life isn’t cutting it. Thoughts of putting a gun to my head and pulling the trigger and things of that nature. Nightmares are the main issue not being able to wake up – stopping the dream, and sleeping all the time and sometimes not sleeping for days. I have no doctor and i want help. because pulling the trigger on a gun has 2 outcomes:
    1. Serious injury
    2. Death
I would like some help anything at all will help

Hey guys. I’m battling from schizophrenia. I’m not asking for money or views or anything, but just for support and for people to hear me out. My psychiatrist said to let people know about your problem, but everyone thinks I’m weird and my family cannot understand or take me seriously. I made a blog about my problems, and I hope we can talk on there. My blog is battlingschizophrenia.blogspot.com . Fellow schizophrenics, you should also come. We can fight the battle together.

No, they don’t say that they know everything but that they know more than you can get from youtube, “self-help” books or any kind of “spirituality”. You don’t have to be sick to know how to treat it. But telling depressed person to go to doctor… if you’re depressed it seems too difficult and tiresome…

doctors say they know everything about disises just because they have read a book or two on it. They say its “easy to treat” or “talk to your doctor for help” they dont know whats best because they arent the ones in the body suffering it.

please read all of the comments for this video, and go find the answer to your question…..that is if you REALLY wanna know the truth! This video is about mental illness among church leadership, and this is a real issue! Bishop Mason would stare at a bowl of fruit to get “revelation” ….

Thanks for the ‘Real’ comment! we need this type of convo in the Body of Christ! Christ came to save everyone, and he especially came to help the lame, halt , and afflicted Matt 15:30. But it starts with being honest, how can someone be healed if they are UNWILLING to accept help! AND u r right about the LACK of accountability, it is sad that we hold our political leaders to a higher level of accountability than our spiritual leaders.

You are on to something. You should research the work done by Peter Scazzero in Queens who writes about Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. We cannot be spiritual and not be emotionally healthy. I think this is the root problem. We are out of balance. We must take our mental/emotional health as seriously as we take our spiritual health. Yes, we can have the power to cast out devils, and yes, sometimes this stuff is spiritual and sometimes it is medical/mental and we MUST know the difference.

Daniel 5:21 “He was driven away from people and GIVEN the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like cattle; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and sets over them anyone he wishes.”… Who gave him the mind of animal ?(God?) and I’m pretty sure that Daniel 5:31 “there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken;”- counts as God speaking…

If I were you i would be careful about making a claim that “GOD CAUSES mental illness” , when you accuse God of something then you better be able to answer to Him about the accusation. Daniel 4 say nothing about God causing any type of mental anguish, actually God doesnt even give the message a “watcher” gives the message, a& N’vukhadnetzar is NEVER told that God will cause anything, that is like saying God caused Jonah to be cast into the sea, sin has consequences that we cause!

you obviously didnt read the info in the description of the video, this video is NOT about preachers being perfect, this is a serious video about how mental illness is not addressed in ministry and most severley in amongst religious leaders…. I

  35. treal93 said,

It is everyone’s responsibility to adequately help people with mental disorders, but let us not forget about in Matthew 17:14-21, when Jesus rebuked a LUNATIC demon out of a young boy. I’m still a believer that God can heal any type of disease or disorder (physically or mentally)… Oh and there are cases in the Bible where God caused people to become “mentally insane” for a season (Daniel 4:32-33). Let us get a complete understanding of scripture before we accuse each other of being wrong.

This phenomena is not new. It is not just COGIC preachers but also COGIC and other Pentecostal members. Its the religious legalism that does it and the tarrying for the Holy Ghost. As a therapist and a minister for more than 3 decades, more Pentecostals have mental breakdowns than other Christians. Bishop Morton is wrong. Tongues is a language of demons. To know more, you need “Faces of the Religious Demon” which you can buy from pamshepppardpublishing

This is an incredible video! The institutionalized church as we know it is infiltrated by religious demons. Those demons mimic the Holy Ghost. These are the voices Morton was hearing and that drove Mason to the over-the-top stuff…all in the name of seeming ‘super-spiritual’. MANY church leaders are into witchcraft. Some openly, some secretly. I write about mental illness in the ministry in my ebook ‘The Makings of a False Prophet.’ GREAT VIDEO!

When they worship these “men of God” it opens them up to all types of seducing spirits & principalities! The worship of men/personalities is HEAVY steeped in the COGIC tradition, with the comments yall are making we are gonna have to do another video….

@dmoore76, Paul Morton’s grew up in COGIC. His father C.L. Morton, Sr., was a bigtime COGIC bishop who had churches in Ontario, Canada and in Detroit, Michigan (where Bishop Mason died). So if anybody would know, Paul Morton would.

Besides that, Paul Morton said that in public across tv and on the Internet. And to this day, NO ONE has disputed him.

There are a lot of true accounts about Bishop Mason that folks just aren’t ready to accept.
