I’ve never tried an online citation generator, but here’s one I found for creating the full citation of journal articles to put in the references section of your paper:

http://citationmachine.net/index2.php?reqstyleid=2&mode=form&reqsrcid=APAJournalArticle&more=&nameCnt=1

To cite something that is not an article, then go to the list on the left hand side and click on the type of resource you wish to cite.

Personally, though, I don’t think it looks like much of a timesaver, so maybe try it for one article just to see what the format looks like, and cite the other articles on your own. The online form for the citation generator is going to require you to look for and type out all the information anyway. APA is a really easy format.

If you are looking for something that will create citations throughout the main text, I don’t know of a website. There is a great program that will do it called Endnote, but you have to pay. Endnote is also good at creating the references section of the paper. Unfortunately, I don’t think there are any free alternatives to that program.
