Psychology Problems Advice Info

Question by x_Jokerluver_x: Is My Friend a Genius?
Now before all of you begin to conclude that I am no genius since I’m asking it on YahooAnswers, I just wanted to tell you this question is actually not about me, It’s about my friend.

See, all my life, I have been friends with this girl. FOr identity reasons, I wont give out her name. We will call her Kate.

So Kate and I have been friends all our lives since both our mothers have been friends forever. I have noticed some serious things though.

First off, even though our upbringing was good and just about identical, I have grown to be social and have many of friends, I enjoy going out with them, joking and having a good time. I believe in all sorts of things that others would say is illogical. She grew up to become more distant.

She has about one other friend than myself. She keeps her close but never shares much about herself to her. I swear if she could, she would of hid anything about herself from me also. I mean, I’ve been her friend forever and I still don’t much about her at all other then some of her allergies and her favorite colour.

She HATES being touched or ANYONE getting close to her, she can’t stand it. If I spread my arms out to give a hug she would immideatly respond with a raised eyebrow and would cock her head, uninterested to say the least.

She is OBSSESED with anything crime involved, for example, she actually took COLLEGE leveled classes online for Psychology (The Basics.) and has completed almost all of them. She even keeps notes as she has left them lying on her bed sometimes when ever I come over at times.

She shows no feeling for romance for guys (Or girls if you thought that maybe she was a lesbian, but she is not.) and the only romance she shows is towards puzzles, which she is addicted to doing.

If there is anything that will put a smile on her face, it’s a puzzle of some sort. I have told her when she grows up, she’s going to be some sort of Detective.

She never denied the fact that she might would enjoy doing that and has actually thought about it for a while at points.

She also displays some unusual…thinking processes. I don’t know how to really explain it but it’s just that she thinks much differently then others..more strategic. She gives a percent on everything, of probability. She does enjoy thinking about probability.

Her thinking process is much different though, always thinking the opposite way of anybody else and always gives a weird reason for thinking that way if you were to ask.

She’s, as you can plainly see, not like others.

She notices the smallest of details too, not to mention the possibility of having photographic memory. She’s never actually thought of the possibilty herself,or rather, she’s never discussed out loud with anyone.

She talks ot herself too, not to even mention other unusual behaviour. Sometimes she even sits akwardly, Not even thinking about it. She’s also very blunt, never thinking in advance how blunt she actually sounds.

Not to mention her being so secretive. She’s fantastic though at getting something out of someone. She can figure out someone lifestory within seconds and can also figure out if ANYONES lying. It’s some sort of wicked skill she has! I’m truly amazed.

She has almost memorized the way into getting into someones mind, she can tap into it and figure out if they are stretching the truth, or telling a lie, or ANYTHING practically. And within first encounters with any of my friends, she can tell me if I need to watch out for them being on the shady side or not. And if I were to put a percent on it like Kate, she’s about 97% right most of the time, the other 3% is friends that I have currently that she said to watch out for and they haven’t done anything…YET.

Now onto her actual “SMARTNESS”-

She has gotten all A’s on EVERY Report Card for around four years. NEVER has she gotten anything lower than an 85%. She barely has to study and she’s some sort of genius on her tests.

She learns the material once, maybe she studies two times before a test and BOOM she gets an A. When she doesn’t study at all she will get a B guarnteed.

She’s also an AMAZING writer, she wrote a book when she was twelve. It was about seventy pages long, but if converted into the size she wanted to book which was about a medium size, the usual size you would find a books pages to be, it would have been at the least a hundred,mostlikely even more.

The book was about a psychopath in an asylum who had this FANTASTIc strategical view on life and how to woo his psychologists and nurses and all sorts of things, and get weaponary to kill the patients and throughout the book it showed his mentality was warped but his IQ was incredible. They did psychological tests and,..it simply blew my mind away when I read, I had to stop at points for my queasy stomach though. It was….simply astonishing..
You know,I’m not sureif this really helps anyway, but she also is an insomniac? She has a hard time sleeping and somtimes doesn’t sleep for two or three days, in a row. WHenever she does sleep, she only sleep for thirty minutes at a time before waking up.

ALSO! I keep forgetting to put these things, she was really good for like a year at trying to become more…err….popular? Normal? Idk what you would call it. She had up to like four or five friends and then one day simply confinded in me that she hated it and tore away from all those friends, going back to her old lifestyle. SHe was really good though, she would laugh and actually make jokes, that were really funny and had me rolling for quite a while even though they were usually just saturated with sarcasm. Anyhow, she could be a sociable person in a play, as it was all just an ACT anyway. It was totally fake even though you could hardly see through it.

HOWEVER, don’t be fooled, her friends sometimes even came to me sometimes and would say they were a bit worried cause somedays she become so distant or so phony at being happy, I told them it was just her wanting to be alone for a while to just try to take it easy with her.
