Psychology or business major?

Question by ?: Psychology or business major?
My mom asked me this question today and i started getting scared, paranoid because i dont know whether to major in psychology or business.
I love psychology, i love how people think, (especially because I’m gullible and I use psychology as the best way to know the other person’s true intentions.) Ever since i was little, I have always been wondering how the universe was created, what is the purpose of living, what happens after death, etc. (yes, i did think these things when i was 6. honest.)When i was little I used to love looking up what one’s writing, smile, laugh, etc. would reflect one’s personality. When i was 10, I was so happy when my mom gave me a collection of psychology books for Christmas. (This might sound nerdy) but i like to go the mall with my mom and look at strangers and examine their facial features/body movements and try to see what their personalities are like. I don’t know how to explain this, but I strongly believe that my examinations are accurate.
For business, I have always wanted to start my own business like my mom but fear of failure has always stopped me from fully accepting business as my first major. I’m afraid I can’t reach the standards of my mom cause hers was so successful. Raised in her office, I’ve seen how stupid and hot-tempered, and cheap customers can be and how so many manipulate her and it pisses me off how she lets them get away with it and I’m afraid that I might not be able to handle it. I’ve always wanted an exciting life and creating my own business is the closest thing but at the same time I’m too scared that I might not have those abilities. I mean, I never forget a face, I can recognize someone’s face if I have gotten a few good seconds to look at them. I can tell if someone has well intentions, I can differentiate the good and bad workers. I love being in charge, I hate when people tell me what to do. I’ve only been in speech and debate for a year but I get so competitive and I’ve made 2 people cry so far (i didn’t feel good about it…) I like to take risks and follow my gut instinct which I think is an important characteristic in business.
The thought of not knowing is killing me….

Have you ever thought of a double major or a major-minor? I mean in business you are bound to be able to put your psychology skills to use to handle the company and everything.

What do you think? Answer below!

You have to do what you enjoy, or you will hate going to work. After you graduate and work becomes a full time gig, hating your job is a terrible thing. It sounds like you would enjoy psychology more.
If you do choose business, though, don’t do general business, management, or marketing. Most employers don’t take those majors seriously anymore. Go accounting or finance. There is a lot of job security in accounting, and employers tend to trust accounting majors to do the same thing a management/marketing major would do just because accounting is such an intense and challenging degree.
