I agree, I have gone through some rough roads and came out a better person, I never really thought of these experiences as a positive experience, Well I did, but now I am realizing that this is the path I need to get through and come out to the other side to a new space.
this is very exciting to learn this from you :)

I actually am a positive person. It sounds negative, but I said that with much more depth and meaning than it appears lol

you are not determined by your brain chemistry, that’s all what I have been trying to say. Between brain functioning and self-functioning there is an abyss that cannot be positivistically explained. And it’s related to willing. Emotions are related to willing, believe it or not. Ultimately all psychological issues are social issues because the self is social. And social itself is such that it refuses to be based on the idea of mechanic causation–otherwise there would be no notion of crime

cont’d Also recognising that pharmaceuticals.. can help mental problems and biological factors can effect ones state of mind does not equate with what you suggest as a natural logical consequence of that fact. Saying the brain cannot be viewed this was because of some ideological belief is not how we get the truth, but avoid it.

many animals are social, so that is a total fail. What we can measure is nature and nurture. We have free will, so no matter what led us to where we are, that is what we are, and if we chose to rape someone, reasons aside for the parist being a rapist. Free will being ultimately each persons, we should punish for the crime and hold other factors into account re actual culpability mitigated by other factors. Also recognising that pharmaceuticals

    how positive of you.

To say psychology doesn’t exist in the brain but in the free will is not coherent. Free will is the ability to make decisions, to even get to the stage of free will being an issue you have to be conscious and self aware. This requires a brain. The rest of you hypothesis rest solely on us being the result of biology. Which would make everything we do irrelevant to what is moral as there would be no choice. Even adding nature and nurture, the same problem remains, as non of these things are you.

It’s assumed (continuing) for a good reason — because if we were not free, i.e. free from mechanical brain impulses, we wouldn’t be social beings but only blameless animals. Capisci?

But psychology is not situated in the brain but in the free will. Only you puritan positivists do not believe in anything that’s not measurable. Human will is not determined by mechanical processes of the brain. Otherwise, you would have no ground to condemn a rapist to a lifelong sentence “her brain imbalance” what was did the rape, right? Er no, not his brain but his–at the moment rescinded–free will was responsible. ree will is something that can’t be scientfically measured ,it’s assumed

beautifully said! He must be depressed, me must be bi polar, he must be schizophrenic, he must be sick in the head – drug em, cause I’m not completely comfortable in social situations and get frustrated, when In reality I just want someone to listen, have my space and my family to stop labeling me and shoving the medical industries ‘solutions’ down my throat. I feel better knowing that people aren’t completely oblivious to reality

I would like to say thank you personally to John.

I do not need to publicly say how bad my situation is.. but suffice to say I have not been able nor am I any longer allowed to get the mental help I need. So having someone like you… as sad as this may seem, these are the closest I can get to real counseling anymore. And I would just like to say.. thank you.

Your videos… your voice, your discussions, and your energy of acceptance and understanding mean more to me than I could ever say.

I am in a deep depression and I understand what you are talking about. I have to view this as a transformation. My main problem is experiencing and releasing emotion.I need to cry and scream and all of that but it is so hard….You are brilliant

I think it depends on the individual and their specific circumstances.

I’ve had depression, and did find the ‘withdrawl from the world’ that he talks about helpful. In fact, I think it was vital to my recovery.

But I’m not saying that it therefore must be right for everyone, or that everyone has to do it my way. :) We each have to find out for ourselves what helps us and what doesn’t. :)

depression is a hugely un recognized condition, a brief withdrawal does not help severe withdrawal, time for yourself… often it makes it far worse

John believes the brain is the only organ that is not suspetable to inbalance. He berates psychology, while using it. Do you believe in frief therapy john? or PTSD? where someone is in a situation where they have a horrible experience in a context that prevents them from facing it at the time?

While watching this video my mom walks in my room and says, “would you turn this crap off and do something constructive?!” Little does she know the real work is within. She runs around in circles all day trying to make everything perfect and constantly judging herself and others but there’s something wrong with ME.

Aside from the simple fact that we posses the self control to stop our negative thought patterns, psychology has its roots in 100% solid evil. To treat “hysteria”, a made up disease with a “symptom” of not wanting to have sex, a disease which does not “exist” anymore, doctor’s actually invented the dildo and caused forced over stimulation orgasms in married women. Psychology is not science. It has been responsible for thousands of deaths through experimental lobotomy. Please Research.
