Psychology Major to Become Special Education Teacher?
I am considering being a psychology major and then going to graduate school to pursue a Master’s in special education. Any thoughts?

There is a lot of security in the special ed field. Psych majors often pursue school psychologist as a profession. Keep in mind that there is a high burn-out rate in special ed, so I would get certified in something else as well if you are serious about teaching.
School psych will pay more starting out – they often start at the top of the pay scale due to the rigors of the training.

This sounds like a good goal to work towards. You might also want to consider a career as a school psychologist. Good luck.
