Psychology help plz: what does this small paragraph mean?
this is abt Erickson n how he used to experiment with hypnosis:
“by going into a trance himself, Erickson’s voice would “become” the patient’s voice (“my voice will go with you” he would tell them), so creating a great power of suggestion.”
what does it mean that his voice would bcome the voice of the patinets? n what does the part in the paranthesis mean? would someone plz explain it exactly to me?

Not being an expert on Erickson, I’m not sure, but it seems that it may be as simple as continuing the transition of the voice control beyond the point of the patient being concious of hearing the voice, into the trace stage.
