Over Responsibility Is A Psychological Problem. Do You Suffer From It?

“We are what we repeatedly do; excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”

– Aristotle, BC 384-322, Greek Philosopher

There are many definitions of success, the real definition of success is not the one comparing you with others but the one that makes you feel at peace with yourself, in joy and gives you a sense of fulfillment.

Don’t worry! Everything will be okay! You love people when they try to inspire you in your bad times with these words. Things will never be okay unless and until you take charge of the situation and do something about it. How will I improve my relations with my family? Stop thinking! Do it now! Call your mom! Say “sorry” and promise to never repeat the mistakes which made your life miserable.

Have you ever notice the word “responsibility” minutely? It is made up of two words. Response and ability! Your ability to respond the best in the situation! Here “best” refers to the work which sets an example for the community or your family.Responsibility, control, freedom and happiness! All these words are interrelated and influence each other. The happiest people in the world are those who feel absolutely terrific about themselves, and this is the natural outgrowth of accepting total responsibility for everything they are involved in. At the other end of the spectrum, there is irresponsibility, or the failure to accept responsibility. Each individual is somewhere in between, moving towards a higher level of responsibility or irresponsibility with every word and every decision.

Thomas Szasz, the great psychoanalyst, once wrote, “There is no such thing as insanity. There are only varying levels of irresponsibility.” Being over responsible, worrying and burning yourself out to have everything under control is as irresponsible as not taking action when you need to be there, centered and with all your resources to be easily a problem solver.

Your ultimate aim in life is to develop your personality. Charisma, knowledge, experience, intuition, self- esteem are the main elements of a perfect personality. Make a list of the good and bad things happened in your life. It determines the sense of responsibility which is a calculation of the things or your deeds you have done till now.

When you say to yourself, “I am a responsible person,” “I am in purpose ever when it does not feel like it”, you can feel from your gut that whatever you are attracting in this moment is a bridge to a new understanding and therefore freedom.

Why don’t you get success in spite of your responsible attitude?

Which difficulties demand more attention in your life?

How much responsible do you think you have to be to attain success?
