I’ve never been to a “Tony” event or read any of his books, but I’d heard about him from friends. One of them loaned me this tape set which I promptly left sitting on a shelf for 2 months. Getting around to listening to tapes isn’t something I ordinarily do. It was getting to be a long time that I’d kept it, so I thought I’d listen to at least just a little bit of it before returning it. I was very pleasantly surprised!
This tape set is great! Once I was about 2 or 3 minutes into it, I knew I was going to enjoy the whole thing. Robbins is fascinating to listen to — clearly a master presenter. But more than that, his approach is an energizing blend of sound NLP principles, compassion, encouragement to try new ways of thinking and experiencing, and uncommon good sense.
Robbins has a way of introducing ideas clearly, giving entertaining examples and stories, and providing thought experiments/exercises you can perform for yourself while you are listening to the tapes.
Now, it’s easy to be cynical about this sort of thing, to pooh-pooh it, or to cite loftier goals such as total Buddhistic Enlightenment. But for those who haven’t closed the doors on the possibility that there might be something of value in learning how to better use one’s own mind, and for whom the next step in their personal progress isn’t necessarily the Ultimate Nirvana, there are many ideas and fresh approaches in this tape set that could help a person, as a mere, imperfect human being, to get out of a rut or a stuck place and get life moving in a very positive direction — as Robbins puts it — with real passion.
If you begin with an attitude of self-exploration, an open mind, and the willingness to learn, there are some real jewels here.

I have many of the Tony Robbins tapes, because he’s an awesome guy that everyone should listen to, but “Live with Passion!” is my favorite. It’s also cheap, $20 for this program is a bargain. $50 would be a bargain. If you don’t know much about Tony Robbins, this is a great place to start!

I disagree with the reviewer that said you only need 1 motivational CD, they are all the same, you just have to take action.
Yes, they are all the same basic principles, but I find personally that I need to hear it regularly to stay motivated and in that certain mindset. The more often you hear this stuff in more different ways (various CD’s/speakers) the more you will be ingrained with a self-motivating script.
Yes you do have to take action, but i find that action can be more easily sustained on a fairly regular diet of motivational material. The brain is novelty seeking by nature, and a narrow, though repeated, range of exposure to anything (a single CD) will be habituated and lose effectiveness.

Just Like the Mastercard commercial, Anthony Robins motivational CD’s are truly priceless! I have been recommending them to everybody I know. Just pass the word around, it is the best gift you can give to your grownup children, you never know, it might a make a big difference in their future.

Tony Robbins has the gift of expressing concrete, easy-to-implement ideas that can make a difference in living a more fulfilling, successful life. Since listening to these CDs a few weeks ago, I have found myself spontaneously recalling some of the concepts he shared that have helped me face a challenge I was having at the time. In particular, the concepts of “Build a Relationship Bridge” for having patience with others during times of miscommunication has been very helpful. Also, the importance of carrying around a (properly-tempered) sense of “Certainty” in one’s daily life as a pre-condition for success has been extremely useful. Some of his concepts seem self-apparent, but Mr. Robbins’ charismatic delivery and excellent communication skills really drive them home.
I refrained from rating the set at 5 stars due to the multiple references to Mr. Robbins’ seminars embedded throughout the recordings. However, in the end that was a small (additional) price to pay for the inspiration and extremely useful concepts that Mr. Robbins offers. I recommend this CD set highly.
