Question by MahyarES: i wanna start reading psychoanalysis, and particularly Freud, which of his books you suggest to start?
I haven’t study psychoanalysis before, i have read a lot in philosophy, i wanna start reading freud, which of his books is better for starting? i want something that is like an introduction to his ideas (like how “the problems of philosophy” or “Logical Atomism” is for russell) , but i prefer to choose one of his own books not a book about him, what’s your suggestion?

Well I guess the place to start would be with the Interpretation of Dreams. At least after reading this you will be able to tell people who constantly try to analyze their dreams why they are wrong.
Personally I much prefer the work of C. J. Jung. Especially in Answer to Job where he psychoanalyzes Yahweh. Or his treatise on flying saucers and modern beliefs compared to religious visions of the past. Or his theories on the collective unconscious and myth.
Just my opinion.
