I Need help with career definition? Please help.?
I am currently enrolled at an undergraduate school with my major declared as Psychobiology with a possible minor in chemistry. The question everyone keeps asking me is what i want to do once i get my undergraduates and this is what is giving me problems. I want to go on to study the way that medication interacts with a persons neurosystem in hopes to better understand it to make the medication better for that patient. This has some aspects of a psychophamacologist but they focus more on psychoactives and psychiatric drugs. I want to go more generalized and study drugs for alzheimers, parkensins, or even as simple as allergy meds, ect… Can anyone help clarify what this would be catagorized?

sounds like you want to do medical research. If you want to study how existing medications work I think you’d do clinical research, otherwise you could work in drug development or basic medical research. I would think for any of these you’d need to get a PhD in a lab which works in this field, so after your undergrad degree you would have to go to grad school.
