I need help coming up with a good psychology research topic for my paper?
I have a 5-7 page research paper to write for psychology class and I have no ideas! It can be *anything* related to psychology. I want something relatively creative so that the other 100 students in the class don’t write about the exact same thing.

Write about optimistic and pessimistic outlooks. Your teacher will love that, because its the basic philosophy of psychological study.

Legal Psychedelics!! It’ll be an excellent topic because no one even knows that there are legal psychedelics out there. Look into Salvia, Wild Kratom, Ecsphoria, Hawaiian Monkey, etc.

The impact of those who just do talk therapy for depression vs those that just use medications vs those that do both.

I don’t know whether or not you’ll find much on this, but how about how different people view and experience pain? For instance, some people need pain killers while others can “bear” it and carry on their everyday lives, despite the pain. Is it something in the brain that makes some people feel pain more or less? Or is it in the body? Does it have anything to do with the way they were raised? Did Mom or Dad kiss every boo boo that occurred or did they say, “Ah, you’ll live. It’s nothing serious?” Could that have an influence on the perception of pain? I doubt if anyone else is going to write about this for a subject, but maybe I’m wrong. Good luck.

Freud is a fascinating read.
“I am actually not at all a man of science, not an observer, not an experimenter, not a thinker. I am by temperament nothing but a conquistador–an adventurer, if you want it translated–with all the curiosity, daring, and tenacity characteristic of a man of this sort” (Sigmund Freud, letter to Wilhelm Fliess, Feb. 1, 1900).
A really good paper would be “Evidence or Lack of Evidence for an Unconscious Mind.” Does the unconscious mind exist? Why would behaviorism completely ignore the mind?
What is a symptom to a therapist? (Not what is a symptom!)
Hint ~ a symptom is a handle with which the therapist moves the pot.
The Narure of Resistance (Resistance is a client telling a therapist that he or she is moving in the wrong direction.) The client is never resistant, it is the therapist’s lack of creativity, ignorance in forcing an issue, or just thinking he or she knows more than the client that causes resistance.
What do all therapies have in common? (If you can come up with this one, you are probably ready for practice.)
Psychological theories are magical kingdoms. The ideas and concepts of one such kingdom may not cross the boarders into another. Even when words are shared, the meanings of the words, the definitions of the words according to the theoretical assumptions are different.
What are the goals of the various psychological theories. Are there theories wtihout goals? (Yes there are!) The goal of RET is Rational Thinking. The Goal of psychoanalysis is personality reintegration. The goal of reflective listening is to keep doing the technique.

One subject that always baffles me is how much more today’s’ society has become so dependent on drugs… And I mean the pills we see being pushed every day on TV…. you’ve got a migraine? Take a pill for that! You need help getting an erection? Take a pill for that! Oh & wait, if you take our pill, you can get it anytime you want!! Your kids are troublesome? give him a pill! You seem to not be able to keep focused and alert? take a pill!!!
I believe our society has become very much dependant on Pharmaceutical companies that provide us the “fix” we need to either get better or forget our problems… Ah, sorry, gotta go! Need to take my pill!! Bye!

One, you shouldn’t be looking at yahoo answers for homework help. If you need ideas, try looking up popular psychology debates.
Try doing something like the effects of ambition and/or perfectionism on someone’s psyche or overall happiness. Or how the military trains soldiers to kill with minimal moral scruples. Stuff like that.

You should write about how one goes about brainwashing a nation and debate if and how it’s happened in recent decades.
