Question by Pinky: How does psychology apply to advertising?
How do the two have anything to do with each other?
Answer by No Real Help
It’s the psychology of propaganda, that’s all advertising really is. Using specific techniques of propaganda to convince people to buy something they don’t need by making them feel inferior or lacking or unpopular; or convincing them of some idea that has little or no basis in fact is true; or instilling fear to manipulate people into doing (or not doing) something.
Look up ‘covert propaganda’ and see how many times advertising is mentioned
