I don’t deny that other avenues exist other than science but dont try and pass them off as being scientific.

I also dont believe that you understand how science works which would explain why you ascribe to pseudo-science whilst dismissing real science.

The entirety of mainstream science disagrees with all of the points you have put forward. Do you honestly believe that you are correct and they are all wrong? Because if you do you then are seriously deluded.

yeah yeah go join the rest of the boring left brainers in the corner. yawn, there are other avenues than science, which is all theory and hypotheses anyway, its called using intuition, creativity and insight, it comes through the right brain and the sacred gland centred in the centre of your head and it doesnt work well when it is closed and blocked with fluoride.

Walter Russel’s theories are based on pseudo-science and are as such rejected by mainstream scientists.

I believe theories such as gravity because they are demonstrable, repeatable, provide valid and reliable results and are subject to extensive peer review.

Walter Russels theories fail on all accounts which is why they have been rejected by mainstream science and thus should not be taken seriously.

I cannot take someone seriously who disputes the accuracy of the theory of gravity. If I were to drop and object in a vaccuum under 1g it will always fall at a rate of exactly 9.81m/s/s.

However, if you are able to demonstrate that the theory of gravity is incorrect there is a nobel prize and hundreds of millions of dollars of scientific grants waiting for you.

The effects that compounds like seretonin and nor-epinephrine have on regulating and improving mood are incredibly well understood as are the mechanisms by which they do so.

Before any new drug is approved for use is undergoes extensive testing and clinical trials to demonstrate its effectiveness and the mechanisms by which it works amongst other things.

On what basis are you making the claim that the theory relating antidepressants to curing depression is unproven, unfactual and untested?

i.e the theory relating to antidepressants curing depression is totally unproven and unfactual and untested much like the ‘gravity’ theory which is also wrong.
    prevalence does not cause actuality.

You seem lack any understanding of the scientific method. There are very few absolutes in science. Even gravity is understood as a theory, albeit a theory with an indisputable amount of evidence in support of it. The mechanisms of anti-depressants are incredibly well known and documented and are ‘presumed’ in much the same way as gravity is understood as a theory.

Sorry to be probing when you have had such a terrible experience, but how many psychiatrists did you have supporting this regime? You mentioned psychologists, and not to trust them, can you explain this? psychologists don’t prescribe and lean towards talking therapy. I look forward to your response and hope all is well in your life.

thanks for that. I think people need to know that this is not something that is a like it or lump it situation. When I think of how much I suffered with the sound sensitivity, needlessly being driven mad by it at times and effecting me every day and night.I would never go back to that.. ever. I was given them originally for PTSD but I have recovered from that with meds and therapy, I will keep taking the effexor at least in the medium term for the hyper sensitivity.

i too have been extremely sensitive and some look at that as a gift but i believe its up to the individual wither they want to deal or not. I feel SSRI’s give people options.

Also the question should be what is the “normal” brain chemistry. I agree that there must be some “normal” state because basically there are some underlying electrochemical rules but according to what you choose what is the normal level? Did you take the representative sample of human population? Did you take into account those people diets, geographical and sociological status, genetic predisposition? I have not seen such complex study. Their guess is almost as good as mine :)

Great video,ts pretty awesome that you go straight to the primary sources.

Do scientists even know if serotonin is linked to depression at all?

Could it actually be caused by the presence of a chemical/transmitter or combination of them or are people certain it is the lack of a transmitter/chem? It seems like the brain is too complicated to link depression straight to just serotonin. Don’t we have several major transmitters and dozens of other transmitters & chemicals?
