Correlation between Political Affiliation and Mental illness?

Question by Perry 2012: Correlation between Political Affiliation and Mental illness?
I think I found a correlation between political affiliation and child psychology!?
I lived in a rural area once, where I helped teach Special Ed to Developmentally disabled/Emotionally disturbed teenagers.

Most of their parents lived on government checks (disability, SSI, food stamps, WIC)

The area was >90% white.

Most of these children suffered neglect and physical abuse and were in foster care.

Many of them suffered from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Shaken Baby syndrome.

And most importantly, nearly all of their families were HIGHLY politically active.

At home, the kids watched a LOT of television. The books they read came mostly from Wal-Mart or were donated by book drives.

*THE QUESTION* Guess what political affiliation nearly all of these kids identified themselves with very strongly?

Hint= They were not moderates.

BONUS QUESTION = How religious were these kids?

Hint = The highest intelligence level of these children was “Dull Normal”.

Super Bonus Question = What do you think this population has to do with the stereotypes about certain religious and political identities?

I’m guessing they were flag-flapping, gun waving, cough syrup addicted Fox News worshipping cross clenching C O N S E R V A T I V E S , and fanatically religious christian, but not the blazer and khaki christians, I mean the overall and flannel shirt quaking in the isle speaking in tongues type.

    Based on my experience these people should be highly religious conservatives, Sarah Palin and Rand Paul supporters.

    I won’t hazard a guess. However, based upon your highly precise and scientific collection of data, calculation of statistics and meticulous documentation, I will believe whatever you say‚Ķ100%.

    Rural towns tend to be conservative or Republicans regardless of mental illness and cities tend to vote Democrat. My guess is the people that you met were conservative, because of the location.

    Definition of a stupid person: One who thinks there is any substantial difference between the 2 major parties and/or one who thinks either party stands for any principle or ideology.
