This video is intended to promote sufferers of Depression, specifically college aged students, to seek help and talk to others about their problems. We understand that a lot of students deal with this and other mental illnesses, and we believe that knowledge about their problems and talking about their problems can and will alleviate individuals’ life stresses. While seeking professional help such as from a school counselor or your family doctor is preferable, some depressed people may not feel comfortable making that step, which is why we also promoted the idea of talking with friends and family for support and care. Furthermore, there is currently a stigma against seeking mental health care, a stigma that prevents many from seeking help. Our plan is to promote the idea that talking with others about psychological issues is normal and accepted.
